Dance Re-Cycle

Workshops

Three examples of how the cycle works:

1. In pottery
The potter first has to have the idea to make something.  (Vision)  Then he has to soften the clay.  (Freedom)  Next comes directing the form of the clay.  (Energy)  After that, the potter sculpts and shapes the pot.  (Control)  Then it’s ready for the final touches.  (Details)  The potter then has to brush away all the extra that has built up around the project to see where he needs to go.  (Refresh)  The potter might see how he can do something better and rethinks the plan, (Vision) and it goes on from there.

2. In dance
You want to dance.  You get comfortable with movement.  You learn to eject emotion beyond yourself.  You find a focus and get centered.  You figure out how to be more defined.  You are inspired by a performance or by performing.  You want to dance. 

3. In the Christian walk
Realize – I’m a sinner and I can’t do it on my own.

Release – I have to let go of my sin because Jesus has paid for it.  It’s not mine to carry.

Revive – I have new life in Christ.  I can do all thing things through Christ who strengthens me.

Reconnect – The Spirit of God lives in me.  Things need to change.

Refine – Christ is the Perfector of my faith.  He reveals dark areas to me.

Refresh – I am encouraged that I am victorious with Christ.

Cycle #2:

Realize – Christ wants more of me.

Release – I need to let go of fear and be vulnerable.

Revive – God wants me to pursue Him with all my heart.

Reconnect – What’s in the way that keeps me from getting closer with God?

Refine – Christ shines His light on my wounds, asks to pull away the veil and heals me.

Refresh
– I am renewed by the intimate closeness of our Savior.  I revel in His presence.
